New Duck Hunting Apparel for 2017

Duck hunting clothing doesn’t fit neatly into clearly defined categories.
Waterfowlers might start a morning breaking skim ice, with temps in the 30s. Later that day, sun can drench the landscape, and the mercury soars to 60. And when you factor in balmy early-season teal hunts and frigid January freeze-out shoots, it becomes obvious that waterfowlers need a closet full of quality duds.
Manufacturers have obliged. Here’s a look at some of the best duck hunting clothing for 2017, all dressed in Realtree camo.
Banded Redzone Elite Waders and Black Label Wader Jacket
Banded set out to create the lightest and most comfortable breathable waders, and it came up with the Redzone Elite, available in Realtree Max-5. Banded fused revolutionary fabrics with an advanced waterproof, breathable laminate to create the Super Hydrophobic Evaporative Development System, or SHEDS. Then, it created the cutting-edge Heat Absorbing Retention System, or HARS, for the insulated version. The waders also feature taped seams, knees reinforced with 900D fabric and 1,600 grams of Thinsulate integrated in the boot.
The Black Label Wader Jacket, in Realtree Max-5, also features a SHEDS outer layer to shield against rain and wind. Also, it has waterproof seams to keep you dry in any situation, and a PrimaLoft-insulated inner zip-out layer with a 100-gram PrimaLoft Silver insulation to hold out the chill. The liner can be removed and used as a stand-alone jacket.
Under Armour Storm Skysweeper Hunting Hoodie
This hunting hoodie features Under Armour’s Storm technology, which repels water without sacrificing breathability. Its windproof construction shields you from the elements, and its durable bonded three-layer soft-shell material has a quiet outer layer and superior stretch. The sweatshirt, available in Realtree Max-5, has a fuller cut for better comfort.
Cabela’s Men’s Silent Weave Waterfowler’s Seven-Button Shirt
Perfect for mild early-season hunts, the shirt is made of 7.5 ounces of polyester and cotton, so it has a soft texture that stays quiet when birds circle overhead. Its extra-long tail stays tucked in when you crouch down before the shot, and it has two front pockets equipped with button-through flaps so your gear won’t fall to the bottom of the blind. It’s available in Realtree Max-5 camo.
Gator Waders Shadow and Shield Series
The Shadow Series is a traditional wader with customary Gator Waders style, durability and comfort. It features waterproof 5 mm abrasion-resistant neoprene and 800-gram Thinsulate boots. Available in Realtree Original or Max-5, Shadow Series waders also have large knee-guards, a magnetic chest pocket and a large hand-warmer pocket.
The Shield Series waders are light, durable and comfortable. Typical breathable waders collapse and stick out on the sides, but Gator’s Neo/Flex rib gusset lets these waders wrap around your body while allowing for expansion with more layers on cold mornings. Featuring a magnetic chest pocket and 360-degree leg reinforcements, they’re available in Realtree Original and Max-5.
Aero Elite waders are lightest, most comfortable waders ever produced by LaCrosse, yet they will keep you dry and warm in all conditions. The new AeroForm boot has an insulating polyurethane shell that wraps around your foot for superior warmth and a flexible, glove-like fit. The boot’s front provides more protection and stability, and a thick layer of polyurethane underfoot allows extra insulation, cushion and support. A built-in gaiter provides extra protection where the boot meets the foot, and the waders come with a Modular Lightweight Load-Carrying Equipment, or MOLLE, system for attaching gear. Light, waterproof, breathable nylon lets your skin breathe while keeping you dry. Available in breathable or insulated breathable models, the waders feature Realtree Max-5 camo.
Drake GuardianElite Systems Coat

ArcticShield Heat Echo Select XT Breathable Chest Waders with Retain and Retain Active
These rugged breathable waders use ArcticShield’s Retain heat-retention technology in the boots and the Retain Active breathable heat-retention technology throughout the body and legs. Featuring quilted insulation for added warmth, they have a three-ply taslon breathable construction and steel-shank, neoprene-lined rubber boots with cleated outsoles. With a reinforced seat area, full-length chaps and adjustable zippered side panels, the waders come in Realtree Max-5.
