Demand for Reusable Beverage Containers Growing Fast

Reusable water bottles are often the go-to solution for thirsty people on the move. Whether it’s coffee during the morning commute, tea for an afternoon break or staying hydrated with water on the trails, when we need to keep our favorite drinks at the ready these containers are a popular choice. And demand is growing.
Transparency Market Research projects the market for reusable beverage containers, such as vacuum-insulated bottles and tumblers, to increase at a Combined Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.2% between 2016 and 2024. The market was valued at $7.04 billion in 2015, and if the CAGR estimates are accurate that figure will grow to more than $10.19 billion by 2024.
Several factors are driving the growth, price being one. It’s estimated that bottled water can cost 600 times or more than tap water per gallon, so it’s no surprise thrifty consumers are looking for alternatives to the one-and-done plastic bottle. The sustainability of reusable products is appealing to environmentally minded consumers looking to reduce waste. And rising concerns over potential health hazards of polycarbonate plastics made with Bisphenol A (BPA), an industrial chemical found in many plastic food and beverage storage containers, are pushing manufacturers to make BPA-free reusable water bottles. Consumers can also choose products based on their interests and lifestyle preferences, as reusable water bottles are available in nearly any color or pattern imaginable.
Keeping cold liquids cold and hot liquids hot is a bottle’s number one job, and with better materials comes better performance. AVEX’s Realtree Max-5 stainless steel water bottles are top-rack dishwasher safe and BPA-free. Its vacuum-insulated double-wall design can keep drinks hot up to 10 hours and cold for up to 29 hours.
Calcutta Outdoors likewise offers an insulated double-wall stainless steel travel mug wrapped entirely in Realtree Max-5 camo. It is also BPA-free.
Great American Products’ Realtree Travel Tumbler features a 360-degree bottom wrap with a leather-like texture that acts like the sleeves used to shield hands from the heat released by disposable coffee cups filled with hot liquids.
And for manufacturers in the outdoor lifestyle market, the future looks bright. According to Infinium, “Reusable water bottles with primary usage in sports and travel areas are also likely to create substantial opportunity for existing players in the global reusable water bottles market in the next few years.”
